Pyrobiom Énergies is a Canadian startup aiming to be part of the solution to tackle climate change. It provides renewable bioenergy that supports switching to a global low carbon economy.
Pyrobiom Énergies develops installs and operates facilities that process residual biomass to produce solid (biochar), liquid (pyrolysis oil) and gaseous (syngas) products that are then used as bioenergy to replace fossil fuels at large industrial facilities or district energy systems. Pyrobiom Énergies products can be used for green chemistry productions as well as agriculture.
In October 2016, Pyrobiom Énergies has commissioned its first production unit. Located within a sawmill in Quebec Canada, this first unit is designed to process 2 dry ton per hour of residual forest biomass (mainly bark) using a fast pyrolysis technology.
