Babar is a PhD Candidate in Bioscience and Intern with the KAUST Innovation Fund, the venture fund supporting the University’s technology based startup projects. Before joining KAUST for his doctorate, Babar spent 3 years at ContraFect Corporation (NASDAQ: CFRX), a New York City biotechnology company focused on therapeutics for drug-resistant infectious disease, as both a Senior Associate Scientist and Manager of Microbiology Affairs.
Following a passion in business, Babar is actively developing his skills to focus on the translation of science to business. At the Innovation Fund, Babar assists the Investment Management team in daily operations, investment assessment and facilitating the Arabian Venture Forum.
Babar holds a BS degree in Environmental Biology from the State University of New York at New Paltz and an MS degree in Biology from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
