Samer is an investment manager with the KAUST Innovation Fund. He evaluates investment proposals, structures investment deals and manages a portfolio of 8 startup companies across various sectors such as Energy, Renewables, Power & Water Desalination, New Materials & Nanotechnology and Information Communication Technology. Samer also serves as a Board Observer for NOMADD and FalconViz, two startup companies funded by KAUST.
Samer has 15 years of experience in operations, logistics & supply chain management, analytics, investments, commodity trading, joint ventures & portfolio management, business development, banking and venture capital through performing various roles with the National Commercial Bank, Saudi Fransi Bank, Saudi Aramco and its international subsidiaries, Cargill, Alchemist and KAUST.
Samer holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas University and a master’s degree in Economics and International Energy Management and Policy from Columbia University in the City of New York.
